Description

Letter from David Judah to Isaac Leeser, written in New York City on April 12, 1849. Judah writes that he passed through Philadelphia in a hurry and intended to stay one day on his return. He mentions that he heard the smallpox was in W. Newhouse's family. He proposes to meet Leeser at the Cars on Monday if the smallpox rumor is true; otherwise, he will remain in Philadelphia until the next day. He expresses his desire to see Aunt Grace but avoids the risk. He also asks Leeser to remember him to Ms. Cozens & family and Florence's family.
