Description

Moses Bogen writes to Isaac Leeser requesting that Leeser grant the wish of Bogen's friend Finkelstein. Bogen explains that he has been silent due to an ongoing dispute with a man named Zoi, a scribe from New York, who spread false accusations against Bogen. Bogen asks Leeser to publish a notice in his newspaper about a man who is a rabbi, chazan, shochet, Torah reader, mohel, and shofar blower, without revealing Bogen's name. He also mentions having shofars for sale, made by Moses Katzenellenbogen. The letter is written in Hebrew and contains some English words or phrases.
