Description

Letter from A. Dessan in Macaw to Isaac Leeser in Philadelphia, dated October 28, 1856. Dessan describes improvements to the Macaw burial ground, including the construction of a brick wall and iron doors, and the formation of a society for charitable purposes. He requests a synopsis of proceedings and appropriate prayers for the dedication of the burial ground, and inquires about his outstanding debt for the Occident, including the half-yearly subscription of Mr. Feuchswanger. His son Naphtaly delivered the letter, recently returning from California.
