He reports on two applications received, one from Dr. Hoelzel in Australia and the other from Rev. Cohn in Albani. He notes that Mr. H. Bien's term of office is expiring soon. He mentions the recent publication of a new Jewish journal, "The Gleaner," edited by Dr. Julius Eckman, bringing the total number of Hebrew publications in San Francisco to five. Cauffman expresses his desire to help the "Advocate" gain subscribers.
