Letter from Daniel Stein to Isaac Leeser;July 17, 1854

Letter from Daniel Stein in Wheeling, West Virginia to Isaac Leeser in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Stein writes that he received a box of four Bibles, but Messrs. Heyman & Block have not yet accepted them because they did not understand the order. Stein suggests that Leeser write to them to force them to accept the Bibles, as they are obligated to do so after subscribing. He regrets that the gentlemen have acted strangely but notes that this is not for publication. He also encloses a copy of the meeting of the Israelites of Wheeling, and notes that they have collected $300.
